Activity Summary

This research develops prototypes of hardware and triaxila-ultrasonography software for drill core rock imaging, physical properties, and anisotropic microstructure of a drill core. With this developed technology application it is known that the type of mineral, micro structure, void and pores, and the possibility of oil, gas, and water which is likely to be in the core drill rock. The results of the ultrasonic technology prototype are expected to be able to assist in intercourse of drill core rocks along the drilling, which has never been done by oil and gas companies. During this time the drill core was examined conventionally by observing directly from microscopic incisions, in destructive ways, where the drill core was destroyed so that the drill core rock became damaged and even lost. While this technology to be developed is non destructive. So that the drill core rock can still be used for other field research sustainings such as geochemical analysis, rock mechanics, rock fluid, and so on Types of minerals, fracture patterns or cracks, void characteristics and purse. After that the drill core rock can still be used to get other information such as SEM, Geochemistry, Rock Physics, and so on.
