Today, research on the genre of art of landscape mooi indie is often seen as a genre of the development of painting in the history of Indonesian moden art, some of the knowledge widened towards diverse readings, including; Social, economic analysis and the impact on the tourism industry. Nonetheless, the fact that many of the results of the study, reading or academic studies still have many crucial problem gaps can be studied more in-depth, especially seen in the context of the scientific development paradigm outside the area of creation of artwork that requires multi-disciplinary studies. Scientific of Preservation and Conservation of Artwork and Material Culture Artifacts is a scientific discipline and profession that can be applied in the Fine Arts Universities to the field of Museum of Art and Culture Infrastructure. The utilization of this discipline in the Fine Arts College in Indonesia still has not received sufficient priorities even seen as scientific activities that require high costs. But the fact that the environment of the higher education of art in Indonesia has not fully carried out the elaboration of art studies through analysis of conservation methods more comprehensively, significantly and strategically especially for the development of scientific arts in the ITB environment that has a scientific foundation that unites art discipline, science, technology and Humanities. For Fine Discipline, this condition is a positive challenge from the point of view of the need for the development of conservation of artwork through the scheme of strengthening academic institutional cooperation with foreign institutions that have advanced laboratory facilities, complete and have commitment to help each other to develop Indonesian artistic discipline in the global era. Researchers are interested in developing a subject and scope of a broader research that is comprehensive from the results of previous dissertation research ever made during studies in Japan. Therefore, this study involved the staff of Laboratory Laboratory Lecturer at ITB and researchers in universities in Japan. The concept of art research involving partner institutions and experts in the field of conservation of artwork abroad to get a more scientific and neutral new perspective in explaining the phenomenon of the development of mooi indie painting. Research motivation focuses on testing material transformation aspects regarding the details of the composition of pigments, medium base materials, material processing techniques and the influence of sketch traditions in the works of painting Mooi Indie who use paper material. In this case, the works produced by Mooi Indie's painters are Japanese.
