Activity Summary

Congestion is a common thing in a number of major cities in Indonesia, including in the city of Bandung. The high level of the population mobility caused a higher travel request. If the demand for travel is not balanced by the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure, there will be transportation problems such as traffic congestion, which will lead to other environmental and social problems. One solution that can be used to anticipate the problem of traffic congestion is the provision of public transportation facilities. The city of Bandung already has several types of public transportation, such as public transportation, and Damri buses. However, the existence of existing public transportation in the city of Bandung has not been able to compensate for the needs of the population mobility. This is due to the state of public transportation that is still not integrated, lack of safe and comfortable, and has not been supported by the feeder to accommodate the needs of traveling travel to the nearest place of residence. However, the urban transportation scheme in Indonesia has not touched to the mode of feeder, such as a bikesharing. The existence of a bicesharing is expected to be an alternative public transportation facilities in the city that can reduce the number of motorized vehicles on the streets so that congestion in the city will decompose, reduce air pollution and sound pollution, and population mobility increases. This will trigger increased health, productivity, and human happiness, which will eventually increase the city's Livelability Index. This research was conducted to get strong basic points in designing an environmentally friendly alternative transportation infrastructure design that had never been before in the city of Bandung. At the next stage after this research was completed a stage of developing the manufacturing of infrastructure design. It is expected that the development process can run more effectively so it can be made a common public transportation optimal use.
